Support for Alzheimer's Caregivers

Caring for elderly patients with Alzheimer's can be exhausting, both mentally and physically. Often, caregivers take on more than they can handle and end up resenting their patients or neglecting important areas of their own lives.

If you are caring for someone with Alzheimer's, consider joining a support group. These groups can allow you to vent your thoughts, feelings and concerns to others who are dealing with similar situations. Support groups can connect you to others and will show you that you are not alone.

In addition, you might want to seek additional help. Hiring an in-home nurse for a couple of days a week or even for a couple of hours a week can provide you with a much-needed break.
